Tottenham Hotspur have been heavily linked with a move for Real Madrid winger Gareth Bale.

According to HLN, Tottenham Hotspur have walked away from contract talks with Toby Alderweireld.
Spurs are now open to selling Alderweireld, as it could be their last chance to raise money for the Belgian defender.
Tottenham have apparently decided that they will not pay up for the centre-back, who wants a big pay increase.
And if Tottenham are refusing to increase Alderweireld’s salary, then surely any rumours linking them with Gareth Bale are farcical.
Tottenham have been heavily linked with Real Madrid’s Bale in recent times, with the Welshman’s future uncertain.

It looks as if Bale could leave Madrid this summer, and he is said to favour a return to Spurs.
Dairio Gol have said how Bale has made a move to Spurs his first priority.
But it looks highly unlikely that Tottenham will be able to complete a transfer, given their refusal to break their wage structure.

Of course, Bale is a major star and the commercial revenue Spurs could bring in by signing the winger would go some way to paying his wages.
But if Tottenham are not paying up for Alderweireld, who is arguably the best defender in the Premier League, and is already at the club, then they are surely not going to pay a big fee and a huge salary for any player in the summer.
