Some Arsenal fans on social media have been reacting after they were linked with a move for Raul De Tomas.

What’s the story with De Tomas?

According to AS, Arsenal are in for De Tomas as they become more and more desperate to bring a striker into the club before the end of the transfer window.

The Gunners had been strongly linked with a move for Dusan Vlahovic, but after failing to make any real progress on that front, they’ve had to re-think their strategy.

De Tomas has emerged as a target for the Gunners, and he may not be cheap.

Indeed, the Spaniard’s release clause stands at a staggering €70m, but, of course, that doesn’t mean that Arsenal have to pay that amount.

Is he good enough?

It’s always exciting to be linked with a new striker, but you have to ask whether or not De Tomas is good enough for Arsenal.

This is a striker who is in great form. He’s scored 12 goals in La Liga this term, but there’s reason to believe this is nothing more than an extended purple patch.

Indeed, De Tomas has only hit double figures in a top-flight on two occasions in his career, and he only has two appearances for Spain in that time.

De Tomas would certainly be handy for Arsenal if he can score at the rate he has this term, but it would be a gamble.
