Speaking on the Seaman Says Podcast, Arsenal legend David Seaman has been discussing Arsenal’s upcoming game against Crystal Palace, claiming that the Gunners supporters have to show Patrick Vieira respect on Monday evening.
Vieira returns to north London for the first time as a Premier League manager and it’s bound to be an emotional return.
Vieira is undoubtedly one of the Gunners’ biggest legends, leading them to multiple trophies and an undefeated Premier League season, so he should get a warm welcome back to the Emirates this weekend.
What’s been said?
Seaman was speaking about Vieira’s return to Arsenal and he’s called for Arsenal fans to show their former captain a lot of respect.
“The return of Mr Vieira to the Emirates, I wish I was going, that would be amazing because the reception Patrick will get from the crowd will be amazing surely,” Seaman said.
“They’re going to give him respect, surely?” Seaman’s co-host asked.
“They better do, if they don’t it’s a disgrace, but they will. They will definitely give him a fantastic reception just because of what he did. He came at the beginning of Wenger, stayed there for a long time, won a lot of trophies, captain of the invincibles. I’m sure he will get a lot of appreciation and I would imagine they’ll give him five minutes of applause before the game,” Seaman concluded.

Surely they will
Seaman says it would be a disgrace if Arsenal fans don’t show Vieira the respect he deserves, but it’s hard to imagine they won’t.
Arsenal supporters, to this day, still love Vieira, and they haven’t forgotten everything he did for the club.
Yes, it may be over 15 years since he left the club, but true legends like this transcend time and even the younger members of the crowd will know what he did for Arsenal during his playing career.
