Gary Neville warned the likes of Newcastle, Everton and Leeds that the Premier League could lose some ‘big clubs’ this season, as he told Sky Sports.
Over the weekend, the Premier League relegation battle took a few twists after Norwich beat Watford, Newcastle beat Leeds and Everton suffered a home defeat to Aston Villa.
For some, there are questions over whether someone like Everton are in a relegation battle.
The managerless club are four points from danger, with a game in hand on the Magpies, who occupy the final relegation spot.
Whilst someone like Leeds are seven points ahead, but most of those behind them have games in hand.
Either way, with all these postponed games, it’s hard to really gauge who is in trouble and who is out of danger near the bottom.
Neville shared his thoughts on the relegation battle, as he sounded out a warning to some teams.
“They (Everton) could be in trouble,” said Neville. “It’s that sort of four-team mini-league.
“All of a sudden, over a weekend, this could change. Everton lose. Leeds lose. Then you start to think ‘hang on a second’. They are only one or two games from being stuck right in the mire and there are a lot of games to go.
“I think Everton could get dragged into it. But I think they have enough to get out of it.
“Those teams above, Brentford, Leeds, Newcastle and Everton. There are some big clubs there that we could lose out of the Premier League if they aren’t careful.”

Newcastle will point towards the January transfer window and how they are able to bring in the players those around them can’t.
Only two names have arrived so far, including England international, Kieran Trippier, who was outstanding at Elland Road over the weekend.
Whilst at Everton, all eyes will be on who will be their next manager? This could really be make or break for the club because, if they bring in another unpopular name, then they really are in trouble.
As for Leeds, Marcelo Bielsa doesn’t like to splash the cash or work with a big squad.
But the club’s fans will be hoping the likes of Patrick Bamford, Kalvin Phillips and Liam Cooper can return as quick as possible to boost their chances of staying away from the danger zone.
