Leeds United defender Pascal Struijk has admitted that he would be open to signing a new contract with the Yorkshire club, with the youngster one of the Whites’ players this season.
Speaking to Voetbalzone, the 23-year-old centre-back revealed that he is keen to extend his current deal with Leeds following a fantastic start to life this campaign under Jesse Marsch, with Struijk continuing to establish himself as one of the best talents in the Premier League.
Struijk has played every minute for Leeds this season with the Dutch youth international flourishing at left-back as Junior Firpo recovers from injury, with the defender also bagging one goal in the process. And Leeds fans will no doubt be delighted by this latest update from the youngster.
The Marcelo Bielsa signing has developed into quite the talent for Leeds, with Struijk even being named in Louis Van Gaal’s provisional 30-man Holland squad for the September international break, with dreams of a FIFA World Cup appearance this November now well on the cards.

Indeed, 2022 has been quite the year for Struijk, and now the defender has gifted Leeds supporters hope that he could soon sign a new long-term contract with the Elland Road outfit if the club were to approach him with an extension to his current deal.
Struijk said when asked about how he is finding life with Leeds this season under Marsch: “For the time being I am really enjoying myself at Leeds and it would be nice if they are willing to extend my contract. I feel good here and I am focusing on Leeds.”
Struijk signing a new contract for Leeds would be huge

A good case could be made that Struijk is one of the most exciting defensive talents in all of Europe, with the versatile centre-back a key player for Leeds and only getting better with each passing game, and this is why the Whites signing the 23-year-old down to a new contract would be so huge.
With a World Cup call up potentially on the horizon, Leeds signing Struijk to a new contract would be massive for the Yorkshire club, with the defender having the potential to become the Whites’ next superstar centre-back if his development continues to progress at the pace it’s currently at.
