The former Manchester United winger has said that he is a very ambitious footballer and wants to win trophies in his career.
According to The Sun, the prospective new owners of Newcastle, Saudi Arabia’s PIF, are interested in signing Zaha from Palace this summer.
Zaha said on Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE, as transcribed by Goal.com: “I’m 27, trophies is what it’s all about.
“If there’s an opportunity to win trophies, then 100 per cent. That’s 100 per cent what I want in my career and what I’m working towards.”
Promising for Newcastle United
Newcastle are about to enter a new era, with the proposed takeover of the club likely to see them challenge for the European places and perhaps even more in the coming years.
Palace are an established club in the Premier League, but the Eagles are not going to win any major trophies anytime soon.
A move to Newcastle could could be very tempting for Zaha, and he could be willing to be part of a big project and play a key role in that.
The Ivory Coast international is one of the best wingers outside the top six in the Premier League, and he would make Newcastle a better team in the attacking department.
