Martin Tyler told Saturday Night Football on Sky Sports that if Arsenal fans were in attendance against Liverpool then they would be ‘as quiet as the ground currently is’.

Arsenal suffered a 3-0 loss against the Premier League champions and produced a pretty flat performance.

Given some of the performances Arsenal have put out this season, they should be glad that fans aren’t allowed in because there would have been a vicious reaction.

But for Arsenal’s most recent defeat, both Martin Tyler and Gary Neville think there would have been a pretty subdued atmosphere.

“I think if there was an Arsenal crowd in they would be as quiet as the ground currently is,” said Tyler. “They haven’t really laid a glove on Liverpool.”

Neville added: “The crowd wouldn’t be too much different to what it is now actually. I think if fans were allowed in. I think they would be really disappointed.

“But the most disappointing man will be the manager. You can tell what he’s trying to build during these past few months.”

Arsenal have suffered a number of pretty damaging defeats this season, especially on home soil.

Those at the Emirates wouldn’t have taken kindly to such defeats from losing to Burnley to getting smashed by Aston Villa.

It’s all resulting in a potential bottom half finish for the club and their worst period in decades.
