It seems only a matter of time before Tottenham Hotspur hire two new major figures at the club.

Alasdair Gold of Football London reported on Friday that Fabio Paratici and coach Paulo Fonseca would both be at Spurs by early next week.

Tottenham have been without a manager since sacking Jose Mourinho two months ago.

As for Paratici, the former Juventus man is coming aboard as Chief Football Officer and will oversee transfer and contract-related matters in North London.

It’s no secret that the Lilywhites need a lot of new players – particularly if Harry Kane winds up leaving the club, which is probable.

But The Guardian have reported that Daniel Levy has told Paratici that he wants a manager ‘capable of working with the existing squad’.

And suffice to say that revelation hasn’t gone down well with some Tottenham fans:

Tottenham, who finished seventh in the Premier League last season, have a lot of deadwood which needs clearing.

And you can certainly understand the fans’ frustrations if it’s true that Fonseca is being brought in to work alongside many of the existing squad.

Even without Kane, Spurs still have some quality players and throwing the baby out with the bath water is senseless.

But there’s still major improvements to be made and hopefully for the club’s sake, they can be done over the next three months.
