‘If that’s Richarlison’: Some Arsenal & Everton fans fume at £34m Klopp player’s actions

Arsenal, Everton & Leicester City supporters weren’t too pleased with Sadio Mane’s challenge on Daniel Amartey yesterday as Liverpool crashed to another defeat in the Premier League.

Arsenal have had their fair share of problems with VAR recently, whilst Everton saw Richarlison punished for a dangerous tackle on Thiago during their draw against Liverpool in October.

And now they feel that Mane produced a similar tackle yesterday on Amartey, in a game that was riddled with controversial decisions.

A selection of the Everton, Leicester and Arsenal fans felt that Mane’s tackle, which occurred inside the penalty area after 20 minutes, with his studs up, was deserving of a red for the £34 million forward (BBC Sport).

But then again, the Liverpool fans will point towards Leicester’s opening goal yesterday and how James Maddison’s equaliser should have been ruled out for offside.

Not only that, Mane did get the ball in his bid to try and win the 50-50 challenge, but with the way decisions are being made this season, it wouldn’t be a surprise if someone gets a red for that down the line.

Every team has had their fair share of problems with VAR this season, and unfortunately, matters are seemingly getting worse and controversy will only continue.
