Despite Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho praising the 26-year-old, reports suggested that a move could be on the cards, so should Everton swoop?
Manchester United’s Daley Blind
A report in The Sun has surprisingly claimed that Manchester United are ready to sell Daley Blind this summer, and if that is the case – though there is reason to believe it may not be – then perhaps Ronald Koeman should consider trying to bring his countryman to Everton.
According to The Sun, United are ready to sell the 26-year-old at the end of the season as they look to make space for Victor Lindelof.
It would arguably be a surprise if Blind was given the green light to leave as Jose Mourinho has publicly been full of praise for the Netherlands international, having stated that he is playing how he wants a full-back to play (via Independent).

But if Mourinho’s public and private opinions about Blind are two different things and they do, in fact, plan to sell him this summer, then the Toffees could do a lot worse than make a move.
Blind is arguably one of the best utility players in the Premier League currently as he is capable of playing in a number of positions as if they were the role that he performs best in.

And with three of Koeman’s current defence now in their 30s, it surely makes a lot of sense to bolster their options at the back in the next window.
Blind’s ability to play in a variety of positions would enable Koeman to strengthen in several areas with one deal, and with United reportedly willing to sell and with the former Ajax man now into the final 18 months of his contract at Old Trafford (via The Sun), it may perhaps not cost that much for the Merseyside outfit to secure a deal.
