Sunderland are believed to be chasing £3 million-rated midfield man John McGinn.

Sunderland want to snap up John McGinn from Hibernian, who is rated as a £3 million player for the Scottish club.
No team in League One has ever paid a £3 million fee for a player before, and it would be a significant show of intent from Jack Ross’ new side, if they did snap him up.

McGinn has been one of the stand out players in Scotland over the past campaign, with his performances in Hibs’ midfield impressing.
Ross clearly wants to use his contacts in Scotland to his advantage, with Sunderland linked with a number of players from north of the border.
McGinn is comfortably Sunderland’s most expensive target though, and he could add bite and dynamism to the midfield at the Stadium of Light.

There were initially fears that Sunderland would struggle to raise funds for the season ahead when they were relegated, but Stewart Donald has promised his new manager a large budget.
And if Sunderland were able to complete a deal for McGinn, his arrival would show why they are the favourites to take the title this season.
