The Leeds United player is just what Aston Villa need, but will he be offered a new contract at Elland Road?

While he has set about proving his doubters wrong with some fine performances this season, Leeds United attacker Souleymane Doukara will never win over all his critics.
Such is the fate of certain players, but that should take nothing away from his contribution this season or the fact that he would make a fine addition to another club with a rich history if he is deemed surplus to requirements at Elland Road this summer.
If Leeds earn promotion back to the top flight, the prospect of Doukara joining them is slim with just three months left on his current contract and the fact that he is now fighting with a considerable number of fellow wingers for a starting spot.
Only time will tell if the 25-year-old is offered a new deal, but assuming he is not Aston Villa would be wise to make a move.
After all, the Villans know Doukara all too well with the Senegalese attacker playing a vital role in a victory against them earlier this season with a real moment of magic to claim an assist.
Plus there is the fact that Steve Bruce’s side is full of inconsistent wide men, none of whom have seized their chance since he took charge at Villa Park earlier in the campaign.
Doukara would not be so wasteful and he would surely be keen to remain in England if he gets the chance, with the aim of playing week in, week out and proving Leeds wrong in the process.
This is hypothetical at this stage, but the closer we get to the summer the more likely it is that he will be a free agent, and Villa should jump to the front of the queue for a player that could help them return to the top flight a year later than first planned.
