Arsenal reportedly look set to extend Miguel Azeez’s contract.
According to The Sun, the Gunners are going to reward the 18-year-old in the form of a new long-term deal after breaking into the senior squad this season.
Azeez, who’s contracted to Arsenal until this summer, made his debut in a Europa League win over Dundalk earlier this season.
And when this happens, it’ll represent a very smart decision by Edu.
That’s because Arsenal are already about to lose one of their most exciting teenage talents for nothing.
Folarin Balogun looks set to leave North London a Bosman at the end of this season and it would’ve been a horrible look for the Emirates Stadium side if they allowed another promising young academy player depart the club for free.
Balogun is almost certain to get a big Bosman move, evident by the fact he’s been linked to Liverpool and a host of other major European sides.
It’s very likely that Arsenal are going to be left kicking themselves over that situation in the coming years, if and when he’s scoring goals in a top European league.
And that misery would’ve been compounded if the same negligence happened with regard to Azeez.
