The Glasgow Rangers midfielder will have a very familiar face as his manager at Ibrox next season.

When Rangers signed Jordan Rossiter back in 2016 it was hailed as a masterstroke by those who had tipped the young midfielder to be a future star of the game.
Unfortunately for the 21-year-old, he has struggled with a series of injuries and has managed only 10 senior appearances in two seasons, with some Gers fans wondering if he will ever make it at Ibrox.

With age on his side and a contract until 2020, there is plenty of time for Rossiter to prove his worth, and the arrival of his former teammate Steven Gerrard as manager should be the catalyst he needs to prove his worth.
In short, if Rossiter cannot perform under the guidance of the man he was one tipped to replace, there is no hope for him.
Gerrard has been brought to Rangers to motivate, and the young Gers midfielder must see this as the ideal opportunity to learn from one of the greatest players of his generation and make up for lost time.

At the same time, the new Rangers manager will know Rossiter well and will understand what gets him performing, having seen him develop at Anfield.
The midfielder should be bossing the Scottish Premiership and Gerrard will no doubt tell him as much as they prepare for next season. It is then up to the player to prove his worth because, if he cannot up his game in the presence of greatness and with his entire career ahead of him, he could soon be shown the door by a Rangers side eager to succeed.
