Tottenham Hotspur were linked with a move for Franck Kessie during the January transfer window.

In fact, Sport Mediaset reported that Spurs manager Antonio Conte has personally asked for managing director Fabio Paratici to sign the AC Milan midfielder.

He didn’t wind up joining Tottenham during the winter but, with his contract expiring this summer, Kessie is definitely on the move.

And despite Fabrizio Romano’s latest tweet, the North Londoners could still sign him.

The Italian journalist revealed on social media that the player is ‘tempted’ to join Barcelona after their salary offer.

Tottenham still alive?

Absolutely.

If that offer is tempting to Kessie the the Lilywhites certainly shouldn’t concede defeat.

That figure works out at around £100,000 per week, which for a professional footballer at this level, isn’t a massive amount of money.

There was a time a few years ago when Tottenham couldn’t even dream about challenging the Camp Nou outfit for players.

However, with finances a little suspect over there, to the point where they’re only offering targets £100,000 per week, Spurs can absolutely compete.

And if Conte genuinely did ask Paratici for the Ivory Coast international then, well, nothing that Barcelona have offered [according to Romano] should deter the Premier League outfit.
