Earlier this week, HITC Sport wrote about how Liverpool beating Manchester United to Cody Gakpo made it such a more satisfying signing.
According to a midweek report, Red Devils boss Erik ten Hag was ‘very disappointed’ in missing out on the Dutch winger to the Reds [Caught Offside].
And if Fabrizio Romano is right, then Liverpool could inflict even more of the same on Manchester United once again.
Both Premier League outfits are linked to signing Mohammed Kudus.
On Thursday, 90 Min reported that Manchester United had held talks to sign the Liverpool-linked Ghana sensation.

But here’s what Romano said on Friday, to Caught Offside: “I’m not aware of any contact or negotiation between Manchester United and Kudus as of today.”
This is interesting because what reportedly irked Ten Hag is despite wanting him at Old Trafford, the club’s hierarchy never actually made a lot of headway in terms of negotiations, allowing Liverpool to swoop in.
And going by Romano’s comments here, the same is true of Kudus.
The Ajax starlet is, like Gakpo, another player who the Red Devils like but they haven’t got around to actually building momentum ahead of a potential signing.
And like Gakpo, this is where Liverpool can capitalise and cause lightning to strike twice.
