If Rangers tempt Steve Clarke to Ibrox then will he bring former Gers target Jordan Jones with him from Kilmarnock?

Speculation is increasing that Kilmarnock manager Steve Clarke is top of Rangers’ wishlist if they decide to make a change in the dugout this summer.

It is looking increasingly unlikely that Graeme Murty will keep the job beyond this season and the Daily Record reports that Clarke’s impressive work at Rugby Park in the six months since he was hired has turned Gers’ heads.

Will they finally land Jones?

If the Glasgow side do tempt the former West Bromwich Albion and Reading boss to make the switch from Killie, then could that also see them seal a longrunning transfer saga?

That is the one that concerns Jordan Jones, for whom they had a £350,000 bid rejected in January – as reported at the time by the BBC.

Jones is clearly a big fan of Clarke, as shown by what the winger has recently told the Scottish Sun about the 54-year-old amid rumours about his future:

“If you ask any player at Kilmarnock they would all be desperate for him to stay. He has been fantastic for all the lads and fantastic for the club as a whole.

“Everyone knows their job and if you look at the substitutions the manager makes, he reads the game perfectly.

“They always seem to work which shows you how good a manager he is.”
