Newcastle United should make a move for Real Madrid goalkeeper Kiko Casilla in the summer transfer window.

According to The Chronicle, Newcastle United want to sign a goalkeeper in the summer transfer window. It has been reported that the Magpies have expressed an interest in departing Manchester City custodian Willy Caballero and Napoli man Pepe Reina.
While Caballero looks set to join Chelsea, as reported by The Daily Mail, it may not be possible for Newcastle manager Rafael Benitez to convince his former Liverpool player Reina to leave Champions League side Napoli.

If Benitez is determined to sign a goalkeeper in the summer transfer window, then he should look at Real Madrid’s Kiko Casilla.
Casilla is 30 years of age and is behind Keylor Navas in the Madrid pecking order; the Spain international is not going to become the first-choice goalkeeper at the European giants anytime soon.
Leaving Madrid for Newcastle would be a step-down for Casillas, but given that he is not going to play regularly, Benitez should make an attempt to persuade him to switch to St. James’ Park.
The 30-year-old is a very good goalkeeper; the fact that Madrid re-signed him in the summer of 2015 from Espanyol for a transfer fee reported by The Daily Mail to be worth £4.2 million shows how much they value him.
Casilla may not take Newcastle to the ‘next level’, but the Madrid goalkeeper would be an ideal signing.
The Spaniard would not cost much in transfer fee, he has experience of working with some of the best players in the world, a winning mentality, and is actually very good.
