Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting on social media to reports by The Times, which claimed Toby Alderweireld and Eric Dier are among a clutch of players up for sale.

Spurs are planning a vast rebuild of the ranks in north London this summer after hiring Fabio Paratici as the club’s new Managing Director and Nuno Espirito Santo as head coach.

Erik Lamela is likely to be the first of the bunch to leave, with talks with Sevilla advancing over a swap deal for Bryan Gil. Spurs made the Argentine available for a move away after a disappointing season, eight years on from his £26m arrival.

Lamela has also entered the final year of his £80,000-per-week contract. But failed to show he deserved a new deal last term with the 29-year-old only offering four goals and an assist.

Tottenham have also made Alderweireld and Dier available for moves away from the club this summer. They are looking to move Serge Aurier, Davinson Sanchez, Harry Winks and Cameron Carter-Vickers on, as well.

Spurs may also allow Leeds product Jack Clarke to find a new side, just two years after his £8.5m arrival. The 20-year-old has made just three first-team appearances with Tottenham, totalling 51 minutes, between loans with QPR and Stoke.

Carter-Vickers, meanwhile, is attracting interest from Newcastle but would favour a move to Celtic, per the Daily Record. Aston Villa are also monitoring Winks’ situation, according to The Telegraph, while AC Milan are interested in Aurier, per Calciomercato.

Alderweireld has also told Tottenham that he wants to leave north London this summer, per The Athletic. And the Belgian centre-half has admirers in Ajax, according to Voetbal Krant, plus Club Brugge, per Voetbal 24.

Tottenham fans react as Alderweireld, Dier and co. are transfer listed

But some Tottenham fans reacting on social media believe Paratici and Nuno must continue to clear the house of deadwood beyond Alderweireld, Dier and co. A few believe Moussa Sissoko, for one, must be named on their transfer list and quickly shown the door.

Others, meanwhile, have hailed Paratici for a masterclass in the making if he can offload all of the aforementioned names. Yet a few have also noted their hesitance to selling players like Alderweireld who can still make a difference.

So, here are some of the messages Tottenham fans have shared on social media…
