The Tottenham Hotspur hotseat has once again become the subject of speculation.
Antonio Conte’s future at Spurs is becoming increasingly uncertain, leading to talk about his potential replacement.
The Athletic’s Jack-Pitt Brooke has been discussing the Tottenham manager situation on the View from the Lane Podcast.
He has claimed that, if it were completely up to Fabio Paratici, Luis Enrique would replace Conte in the Spurs dugout.
However, Pitt-Brooke suggested that this wouldn’t be ideal for Tottenham, in wake of what has happened with Conte and Jose Mourinho.

“The other point I would agree with now is that the worst thing they could do now is to pretend as though the last three years haven’t happened and get another famous manager and hope that it’s different,” Pitt-Brooke said.
“Which is more or less what I think would happen if Paratici gets his way and they appoint Luis Enrique.
“Enrique is a good manager. He has shown that with Barcelona and with Spain, but if you put him onto his squad, how different would it be from the Mourinho and Conte eras? Not very.”
Tricky position
Spurs are definitely in a tricky position. They’ve tried a fair few appointments in recent years, but results have been mixed at best.
Mourinho and Conte joined as two of the most esteemed coaches in world football, but it hasn’t quite worked out.
Meanwhile, Nuno Espirito Santo was meant to be a more developmental appointment, and that didn’t work out either.

Enrique is a top manager who has worked wonders for Barcelona and Spain.
Pep Guardiola previously called the 52-year-old the “perfect trainer” for Barca, who played “unbelievable football with unbelievable players”.
At the same time, what was perfect for Barca may not be perfect for Tottenham.
We’ll see what happens, but the way things are going, it probably won’t be long before Conte is no longer at Spurs.
