Newcastle are ready to sell Grant Hanley this summer and perhaps Leeds should consider the Scot to solve their centre-back issues.
Newcastle United are keen to move on a number of players this summer as manager Rafa Benitez looks to trim down his squad ready for a return to the Premier League.
According to the Shields Gazette, defender Grant Hanley is among those deemed surplus to requirements at St James’ Park – just a year after joining from Blackburn Rovers in a £5m deal.

Hanley has most recently been offered to Birmingham City, with Derby County and Sheffield Wednesday (Sheffield Star) having also shown interest in the past.
However, there is another Championship club who are yet to take a serious look at the 25-year-old despite being in the market for a new centre-back – Leeds United.
The Whites are in the running, alongside Birmingham, for wantaway Bristol City star Aden Flint, who the Mirror reports the Robins are ready to sell and who manager Lee Johnson told the BBC has “had his head turned” by recent interest.
Yet at three years’ Flint’s junior and with almost double the games played in the second tier of English football (162 in comparison to 90), perhaps Hanley would be the better option. Plus the Magpies, unlike City, want to sell their player.
The one stumbling block, however, could be the Scotland international’s wages, with Hanley still having four years left to run on what is believed to be a lucrative contract with Newcastle.
