Reports claim Kevin Mirallas is not needed at Everton so should Newcastle be ready to pounce?
When Kevin Mirallas signed a new three-year contract on May 12 it seemed, perhaps understandably, that Everton viewed the winger as part of their long-term plans.
Yet not according to talkSPORT, who claim that Mirallas is in fact not part of Ronald Koeman’s plans and could well leave Goodison Park this summer.

Reports from Turkish publication, Fanatik, have already suggested that the Super Lig could be the 29-year-old’s next destination, with Fenerbahce keeping close tabs on developments.
Yet if this is true and Mirallas will be leaving the Toffees soon, would the Belgian not be the ideal signing for newly promoted Newcastle United?
After winning the Championship in 2016/17 and the promise of big spending ahead of their return to the top flight, the Magpies have still made just one permanent signing this summer in Christian Atsu – who spent the last 12 months on loan at St James’ Park from Chelsea in any case.
Rafa Benitez’s squad will need improving if they want to avoid relegation next term, particularly out wide were arguably Atsu and Matt Ritchie are the only two current options with Premier League quality.
That is something Mirallas has in abundance, however, with 146 top flight appearances in England to his name to date and while he may not be deemed good enough for an Everton side with top six ambitions, the Belgium international certainly still has plenty to offer to others lower in the division.
