Tottenham Hotspur winger Georges-Kevin N’Koudou has been linked with a loan move to German side Mainz.

SkySports claim a deal has been agreed which will see the French winger head to the Bundesliga for the entire season.

It is a serious blow to N’Koudou’s Tottenham career after an impressive pre-season, and in reality, it is the end for him in North London.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino has not taken a shine to the former Marseille winger, and has not selected him to start a Premier League game in two seasons at the club.

In pre-season, he impressed, even scoring against Barcelona, and notching a winner against AC Milan.

N’Koudou really could not have done any more, and yet still Pochettino has decided he is not in his plans.

This is despite Spurs failing to sign any wide players in the summer – next summer N’Koudou will probably not be so lucky, yet still he has failed to get a look in.

Unfortunately for N’Koudou, once Mauricio Pochettino sends a player out on loan abroad, it has signalled the end.

Nabil Bentaleb, Clinton N’Jie and Federico Fazio were all loaned out to European clubs, and sold the following season.

Vincent Janssen appears to be on the same path, if Tottenham can find a taker.

Whether Mainz end up being his final destination, it is hard to see a way back for N’Koudou at Tottenham from here.
