With David Moyes’ future at West Ham United in doubt, should they consider Claude Puel if Leicester City do sack him?

The future of Claude Puel as Leicester City manager remains precarious, according to the Daily Mail, with the club’s hierarchy said to be furious with the 5-0 Premier League defeat to Crystal Palace at the weekend.
An inquest was held by senior officials at the King Power Stadium following the loss to the Eagles and a significant turnaround in style and form is needed for Puel to save his position – starting this weekend at home to West Ham United.

What next for Puel?
If the Frenchman does lose his job with the Foxes it will be the second successive summer the 56-year-old is unemployed after being axed by a side from England’s top flight.
In 2017, Southampton sacked Puel after just one season in charge, despite the Hampshire outfit finishing eighth in the table and reaching the EFL Cup final – a decision many have considered harsh in hindsight considering the Saints’ current relegation troubles.
Leicester have European ambitions and are unsure whether the former Monaco, Lille and Lyon boss is the man to help them achieve their goals.

One of the criticisms aimed at Puel during his time in English football is his lack of ambition going forwards and the Palace hammering aside, generally his teams favour defensive solidity over attacking flair.
Which is something West Ham could perhaps do with, with their own 4-1 defeat to Manchester City in their last outing meaning they now have the worst record at the back in the entire division, conceding 67 goals so far this campaign.
The future of their current manager, David Moyes, remains uncertain – as reported by the Mirror – and perhaps Puel could be the one to guide the Hammers away from the drop zone and back towards the top half.
