Leeds United have been linked with the talented Macedonian.

According to a report from Corriere Dello Ticino, Leeds United are closing in on the signing of Lugano attacker Ezgjan Alioski, but what would the Macedonian’s arrival mean for current Whites player Kemar Roofe?
After all, Alioski excelled as a winger and a striker last season, scoring 17 goals and providing 14 assists in 36 appearances, but versatile as he is, his best two positions are those where Roofe arguably does his best work.
Roofe signed for Leeds after his superb form for Oxford United, and while he has been used on both wings and as a number 10 since he arrived at Elland Road, he appeared to have made the right wing position his own in the final few months of the campaign.
A new manager means new thinking and new players and, if Alioski does arrive in due course, it could be Roofe who suffers the most.
He could be limited to playing on the left – something that he has done sporadically over his career although it is clearly not his best position.
Considering the presence of Pablo Hernandez, and the potential for another attacking midfielder to be signed given the lack of goal threat from that area last season, Roofe could suddenly be competing for one position, especially if Alioski hits the ground running and replicates his best form.
Leeds manager Thomas Christiansen will understand the importance of a big squad – something the Whites did not have under former boss Garry Monk – but considering Roofe’s poor return since arriving at the club, he would be forgiven for wondering just how many starts he will get should Alioski arrive and subsequently excel.
