Leeds United should test Rangers resolve over Martyn Waghorn.
Leeds manager Garry Monk talks to Pontus Jansson
Leeds United’s failure to sign another striker came back to haunt them this season as they appear set to miss out on the play-offs.
The Mail reported earlier this year that the Whites were keen on signing Glasgow Rangers forward Martyn Waghorn, and with a respectable offer this summer they might just be successful.
That’s due to the state Rangers find themselves in, with a clearout likely.
This season has been a massive disappointment for the Gers, and become humiliating at times.
They have lost five and drawn one out of six games against rivals Celtic, losing two of them 5-1.

New boss Pedro Caixinha has seen over the past few weeks that Rangers’ current squad is not up to it, and Wagjorn has done little to stand out from the pack.
If Rangers could get a small fee for his services to re-invest, it would be hard for them to turn down an offer.
Waghorn played alongside Leeds United forward Chris Wood and Leicester City, and has experience playing in the Championship, even netting against the Whites.

He has netted 15 goals in all competitions this season, which has seemed underwhelming compared to last season where he scored 28.
With Caixinha likely to want to bring in his own players, moving on could be the smart move for Waghorn, and if Leeds are serious about him, he is a very achievable transfer target.
