Charlie Davies has backed former Arsenal player Yunus Musah to accept an offer from Liverpool if Jurgen Klopp came knocking for the Valencia midfielder in the summer.

The CBS pundit thinks Yunus Musah could be used as a ‘rotation’ by Jurgen Klopp, but the 20-year-old needs to find a club that will provide him with regular starts.

Valencia are in a world of mess in La Liga, one of Spain’s great clubs, is being run into the ground by the very unpopular, Peter Lim.

They are battling relegation and there is every chance they drop out of Spain’s top-tier, if that happens, then they will lose their star players.

After coming through Arsenal’s academy, Musah is one of those players, with Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United one of the interested parties in the USMNT international.

Well, former USMNT international Charlie Davies was discussing his fellow countryman’s future, when Liverpool entered the chat, as he told CBS Sports.

“There’s no doubt that he is a special player and a player who we don’t have in the (USA) pool,” said Davies. “He’s a player who can break through lines on the dribble. His acceleration.

“But he’s also a two-way midfielder. If he’s asked to defend, then I think he can defend and play as a hybrid eight. I would like to see him being a bit more attack-minded when he is with the US. He has the X-Factor we typically don’t have.

“It’s all about going to a club that suits you. That needs your skill set. You don’t go to a club because you are a big massive club and I want to go there just to say ‘I played for this club’, but you don’t get any minutes.

“When you look at their (Liverpool’s) midfield right now, he would be in that rotation, for sure. Is it the right step for Yunus Musah from Valencia? Probably not. If Jurgen Klopp sits down with you and says ‘you are going to be in my team’, you are going to get the chance to play, then you go.”

MUSAH IS WORTH A GAMBLE

It needs to be remembered that he is only 20 and there is bundles of potential to work with.

Someone like Klopp would be the perfect coach for Musah and a player the German can take to the next level, that’s if they decided to sign him.

Yes, the Liverpool fans want the Jude Bellingham’s of this world, but Gini Wijnaludm was signed from then-relegated Newcastle United and won it all, so why can’t the same happen with Musah?
