Speaking on his podcast, Phil Hay has suggested that Leeds may not actually sign a striker this summer.
Indeed, the reporter says that Leeds have moved away from the feeling that they need to bring a striker in, stating that the west Yorkshire outfit are in two minds about bringing in a new forward.
“It seems as though they have moved from the feeling that a striker will come in to a sense of them being in two minds I think, they’re biding their time and keeping their powder dry. Perhaps results have influenced that and as it goes on if Leeds find that they’re short of goals and chances that may push them into something,” Hay said.
We hate to be so negative, but we can’t help but feel as though Leeds would be making a massive transfer mistake if they chose not to sign a new striker before the window closes.

Patrick Bamford is Leeds’ only senior recognised number nine at the moment, and as good as Joe Gelhardt is, you don’t want to be relying on a player that young at any point of the season.
Bamford’s injury record speaks for itself, there’s every chance that he misses large portions of this season, and if he does pick up an injury, Leeds need to have a player waiting in the wings to replace him.
A new striker has been needed at Leeds for a couple of years now if we’re being honest, and if they don’t plug this massive hole within their squad, they may well live to regret it.
Leeds would be making a serious mistake if they don’t sign a new striker who can provide competition for Bamford.
