The AC Milan ace has been linked with a move to Newcastle United this month.
According to a report from Italian publication Calcio Mercato, AC Milan are willing to sell Diego Laxalt to Newcastle for just £10.7 million this month, and some Magpies fans took to Twitter in reaction to hearing the news.
The Magpies are currently in a whole world of trouble, and sit precariously in 18th spot in the Premier League, one point adrift of safety.
Whilst things are bad on the pitch, off-field problems are really threatening to derail Newcastle’s season, with Mike Ashley determined to sell up at St James’ Park, but nobody prepared to match his rather extortionate asking price.
Whether Rafa Benitez has any funds to spend this month is highly doubtful, but Italian media outlet Calcio Mercato suggest that they could be in for AC Milan wing-back Diego Laxalt nonetheless.
The 25-year-old would undoubtedly be an excellent signing for the Toon, especially for just £10.7 million, but some Newcastle fans don’t seem convinced that a deal for the Uruguayan is possible…
