Speaking on Vibe with Five, Rio Ferdinand has been discussing the future of Raheem Sterling at Manchester City, claiming that he’d sign him for Liverpool if it were up to him.
Sterling has had a tough time at City in recent months. The arrival of Jack Grealish has seen him pushed down the pecking order, and he’s finding matches hard to come by.
Ferdinand reckons that it may not be long before he’s angling for a move away from the Etihad, and he says that Liverpool should be all over him if he is to leave Manchester.
What’s been said?
Ferdinand was discussing Sterling’s situation.
“There must be clubs sitting there going ‘boy, let me see how this situation pans out’ because I would take Sterling all day,” Ferdinand said.
“If I’m Liverpool, I’d buy Sterling tomorrow.”

Strangely perfect
As weird as it sounds on the surface, a return to Anfield for Sterling would be strangely perfect for all parties.
Liverpool need more attacking options and Sterling needs to find somewhere he can get regular football.
Sterling would be very well-suited to Klopp’s style. He’s a fantastic presser and he’s perfected the art of arriving in goalscoring positions at the back post.
He’d be a great alternative to Sadio Mane and if the chance comes up to sign him, Liverpool may want to have a real look at this one.
