Arsenal striker Eddie Nketiah has said that he is ready to step in for the injured Alexandre Lacazette, as quoted on BBC Sport.
Lacazette suffered an injury during Arsenal’s 1-1 draw with Fulham at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.
The 29-year-old France international striker had to be substituted in the 70th minute, and his replacement, Nketiah, scored for the Gunners late on.
The 21-year-old former Leeds United loanee has said that he is ready to step in for his teammate if manager Mikel Arteta so wants.
BBC Sport quotes Nketiah as saying: “Firstly I wish Laca a speedy recovery – he’s important to the team and hopefully will be back as soon as possible.
“For me I stay patient and I’m happy to get the chance to play and I will be ready to help the team if I’m called upon.”

Big chance for Eddie Nketiah
It is not clear for how long Lacazette will be on the sidelines, and the door could open for Nketiah.
The 21-year-old has had limited opportunities this season, but with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang not having the best of times and currently out with illness, Arteta could decide to turn to him.
According to WhoScored, the English youngster has made three starts and 13 substitute appearances in the Premier League for the Gunners so far this season, scoring two goals and providing one assist in the process.
The striker has also made six starts and one substitute appearance in the Europa League for Arsenal this campaign, scoring three goals in the process, according to WhoScored.
