Rodney Marsh took to Twitter following Tottenham’s 1-0 defeat to Chelsea, and he had an interesting revelation to share with his followers.

The former Queens Park Rangers and Manchester City forward said that, if he was Daniel Levy, he’d offer Harry Kane £500,000-a-week after the loss.

Tottenham’s defeat to Chelsea was their second game without the talismanic England international.

On the basis of their displays without him, we would also offer the 27-year-old silly money to stay!

Kane suffered an ankle injury in the 3-1 defeat to Liverpool, and has now missed 1-0 defeats to Brighton and the Blues.

In those outings, Tottenham have managed to register just six shots on target.

As WhoScored shows, they had four efforts on goal against the Seagulls, and just two against Thomas Tuchel’s men last night.

Tottenham’s attacking capabilities are severely dented when Kane isn’t around.

There is no focal point without him, and Spurs look utterly lost without their No.10 giving them a target to base their attacking moves off.

Levy might not have £500,000-a-week to spare amid the financial implications of the COVID-19 pandemic.

However, if he does, Kane is by far and away the only Tottenham player deserving of such a salary right now – others need to step up in his absence.
