Paul Merson has written on SportsKeeda that Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal should sign Ruben Neves from Wolverhampton Wanderers ahead of Manchester United in the summer transfer window.
The former Arsenal star believes that Wolves are going to struggle to keep Neves beyond the end of the season.
The Sky Sports pundit believes that Arsenal should make a bid for the Portugal international midfielder, who earns £58,000 per week as salary (SalarySport).
Arsenal have actually been linked with Neves.
90min reported this week that Neves has told the Wanderers that he wants to leave this summer, with Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur among the clubs keen on securing the services of the 25-year-old.
Merson wrote on SportsKeeda: “If I was Arsenal, I’d be going after Ruben Neves. Manchester United are going to be after him as well. I’m not sure how Wolves are going to keep him at the club, to be honest.”

Ruben Neves would make Arsenal better
In our opinion, Neves would make Arsenal better and stronger in the middle of the park.
The 25-year-old is at the right age to take the next step in his career and move from Wolves to Arsenal in the summer transfer window.
Neves’s best years are ahead of him, and working under Gunners manager Mikel Arteta would see him get better.
The Portuguese star has made 26 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League for Wolves so far this season.
Neves has scored four goals and given two assists in those games.
