Thomas Muller doesn’t seem entirely happy with Jerome Boateng’s impending exit from Bayern Munich, channelling his inner-Jose Mourinho when asked about the reported Tottenham Hotspur target.
With a royal rumble threatening to break out behind the scenes at the Allianz Arena, it seems Hansi Flick has a World Cup-winning forward in his corner as the Bayern boss prepares to go to war with Bayern’s bean counters.
Flick wasted no time in making it clear he disagrees with the decision to release eight-time Bundesliga champion Boateng in the forthcoming transfer window.
And while the usually outspoken Muller is never one to sit on the fence, Boateng’s long-time teammate did his best Mourinho impression at an intriguing post-PSG press conference.
“If I speak…” Muller quipped before, in trademark style, laughing like a maniac for an uncomfortably long time (Tuttomercatoweb).
“We’ve been through a lot with Jerome but it wouldn’t be fair for me to talk about another player’s contract. If I did, it would become a big mess.

“Physically he is very good considering what he went through a couple of years ago (with injuries). He had physical problems but he managed to overcome them, mentally as well.
“He trains with great desire and I think his desire can also be seen in the game. He’s a fundamental player for us.”
With 32 appearances this season – just six short of his tally from that treble-winning 2019/20 campaign it’s fair to say those fitness problems appear to be in the past.
Sky reports Tottenham have opened talks over a deal that would see Boateng, a long-time Mourinho target, return for a second spell in the Premier League this summer.
But, before he goes, could the 32-year-old centre-half spark an almighty civil war at one of Europe’s biggest clubs?
