Everton fans have reacted on Twitter to talks between Antonio Conte and Tottenham seemingly breaking down.
Italian journalist, Fabrizio Romano, claimed on Twitter that Conte will not be joining Tottenham after he was ‘not convinced’ by their project.
The highly demanding coach hasn’t just been linked with the managerial vacancy at Spurs, but Everton have also been seemingly sniffing around.
After the rumour around Conte and Spurs emerged, the Everton fans shared their thoughts on the matter.
On paper, both Everton and Spurs would admit that they produced under-whelming campaigns, yet it was those from North London who finished above their Merseyside rivals.
It does raise the question, if Spurs are ahead of Everton, then why would Conte consider the Toffees if he wants to win trophies as soon as possible?
One area that Everton could trump Spurs at is the transfer market and having the financial power to out-muscle many of their rivals.
They managed to lure Carlo Ancelotti towards their direction and brought in the likes of James Rodriguez and Allan last summer.
But his surprise departure has put the Toffees in a sticky situation, as they may end up fighting for the same talent pool of coaches with Spurs if they don’t make appointments quickly.
