‘If he plays we win, massive boost’: Liverpool fans react to shock injury boost before Palace

Liverpool might be set for an unexpected injury boost.

The Reds round off their Premier League campaign with a visit of Crystal Palace at Anfield on Sunday.

And Liverpool will know that victory guarantees them a spot in the top four and Champions League qualification.

Considering they came into the campaign as Premier League champions, a top-four finish would be a satisfactory end to an injury-hit campaign in which Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip have been injured.

Another centre-back ruled out for the rest of the season last week was Ozan Kabak, with Jurgen Klopp saying after the win at West Brom that a groin issue would rule him out of the run-in.

But The Mirror reported this afternoon that the Schalke loanee may yet return to the squad on Sunday evening.

Rhys Williams has been playing in place of the 21-year-old in recent weeks and it’s fair to say that Kabak has looked a much better, more polished defender.
