TalkSPORT pundit Darren Bent has said that Tottenham Hotspur central defender Eric Dier would be brilliant at Bayern Munich.
The former Tottenham Hotspur striker has said on talkSPORT (4:52pm, August 30, 2023) that the Premier League might have become a bit too quick for Spurs defender Eric Dier now.
Bent thinks that the 29-year-old England international, who can also operate as a defensive midfielder, would be “brilliant” at Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich if he went to the German club and would flourish at the Allianz Arena.
Bayern signed England international striker Harry Kane from Tottenham this summer.
Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg reported this week that Dier has been offered to Bayern, and that the European giants are considering making a move for the Englishman.
Dier has not made a single appearance in the Premier League for Tottenham this season and does not seem to be in the plans of head coach Ange Postecoglou.
Bent said about Dier: “I still think he is a good defender but lacks a yard maybe.
“I still think he reads the game well. I think he can be a good leader, but I think potentially the league is just a bit quick now.
“But if he goes to Bayern Munich, he would be brilliant over there.
“Listen, good luck to him.”
We believe that if Dier has the chance to move to Bayern, then he should take it.
It is clear that Postecoglou does not fancy the defender.
A move to Bayern from Tottenham would be a step-up for the defender.
Bayern are one of the biggest clubs in the world who regularly win the Bundesliga and challenge for the UEFA Champions League.
Dier has made 270 appearances in the Premier League so far in his career.
The Englishman has scored 12 goals, given nine assists, and kept 86 clean sheets in those games.
