Gary Neville has said on Monday Night Football on Sky Sports that Leeds United and Newcastle United are “flaky” and are in Premier League relegation danger.

The Sky Sports pundit made the comments after watching Newcastle United play out a 1-1 draw with Manchester United at St. James’ Park in the Premier League on Monday.

The former Manchester United star believes that once Kalvin Phillips and Patrick Bamford are back from injury, then Leeds should be fine from the dreaded drop to the Championship at the end of the season.

Marcelo Bielsa’s side are 16th in the Premier League table at the moment with 16 points from 18 matches, five points above third-from-bottom Burnley, who have played 15 games.

Gary Neville verdict on Leeds United

Neville said on Sky Sports: “Leeds and Newcastle are both worrying me. Leeds are flaky, they are flaky.

“I know they have got injuries at the moment, but they are a little flaky. But if they get Bamford and Kalvin Phillips back and the others, then they should just be okay.”

Escaping relegation

Leeds have had injury problems, and that is really affecting them.

Bamford is the best striker at Leeds, and Phillips is the Whites’ best midfielder.

So, not having these two England internationals is really a problem.

However, in our opinion, Leeds will survive the dreaded drop.

The Whites are actually playing well and are still showing a lot of enthusiasm on the pitch.

Are there three worse sides than Leeds in the Premier League?

In our view, yes.
