Fabian Delph has predicted promotion for Leeds United this season.

Leeds United’s superb start to life under new boss Marcelo Bielsa has caught the attention of many fans and pundits up and down the country – and seemingly one of their former players.
The Whites have dropped just four points in the Championship and remain unbeaten under Bielsa, with the Argentinian once again pushing his famed beautiful, attacking football at Elland Road.
Leeds sit top of the Championship table and have real hopes of a return to the Premier League for the first time since their relegation in 2004, and Manchester City’s Fabian Delph is certainly impressed.
Delph has told talkSPORT that is confident that Leeds will win promotion back to the Premier League this season, and if his prediction comes true, then he may just be the perfect coup for the Whites upon a return to the top flight.
Delph, 28, came up through the Leeds United ranks following a 2001 switch from hometown club Bradford City, and made 54 appearances before being sold to Aston Villa in 2009.
The midfielder, who has been transformed into a left back by Pep Guardiola, is now a Premier League title winner and England World Cup ace, but his first-team prospects at City are limited given the presence of Benjamin Mendy, Kevin De Bruyne, David Silva and Bernardo Silva.

By next summer, Delph would have just one year left on his deal with City, and an emotional return to Elland Road to spearhead Leeds’ comeback to the top flight would be smart for all parties, offering him a key role and the chance to play for his boyhood club in the Premier League.
Having told BBC Radio Leeds’ Adam Pope just this summer that he would love a return to Leeds one day, he could be the ideal Premier League signing for Leeds – but they must fulfil Delph’s prediction first.
