Everton have been linked with a move for the Hull City player.

According to Wednesday’s print edition of the Sun (page 51 on 25/01/2017) Everton are interested in signing Hull City defender Harry Maguire and the 23-year-old would be a great addition to Ronald Koeman’s squad.

The Toffees are in need of reinforcements at the back and Maguire is both young enough and talented enough to be a success at Goodison Park for years to come.

He has really grown into his game this season and now looks set to fulfil his considerable potential having had to wait patiently for his chances at the KC Stadium.

Now a first-team regular, Maguire has been one of the shining lights for Hull in what has been a very tough campaign and with just 18 months remaining on his current contract he could also be available for a knock-down fee either this month or next summer.

Everton need a worthy replacement for the ageing Phil Jagielka and the hit-and-miss Ramiro Funes Mori and Maguire more than fits the bill.

He is not yet the finished article, and on occasions he makes positional mistakes, but there is no better manager to learn from than Koeman in that regard and the Dutchman could mould Maguire into one of the country’s best defenders.

Everton have impressed with their signings since Koeman took charge and a move for Maguire would continue that trend.
