Borussia Dortmund have been linked with a move for Jeremy Toljan, who has also been on Tottenham Hotspur’s radar this summer.
According to a recent report from Revier Sport, Borussia Dortmund are keeping an eye on Hoffenheim full-back Jeremy Toljan, who, Sky Sports reported back at the start of the month, is on Tottenham’s radar also.
If Toljan decides that he would prefer a move to the Westfalenstadion than to the Premier League, then perhaps Mauricio Pochettino should consider targeting a player whose first-team prospects would surely be harmed by Toljan’s arrival.
Felix Passlack is a player who certainly appears to have an extremely bright future ahead of him, having represented Germany at various youth levels and having made a handful of first-team appearances for the Bundesliga giants already.
The 19-year-old has predominantly played for Dortmund at right-back. And while some Tottenham fans would suggest that following Kyle Walker-Peters’ promising debut in the win over Newcastle at the weekend, the club perhaps do not need another right-sided defender, but Passlack is versatile enough to contend for a variety of positions.
He has played further forward, and is capable of providing goals. In his 20 caps for Germany’s under-17 side for example, he scored seven times – and it was also with that team that he demonstrated his leadership qualities, captaining them at the under-17 World Cup in 2015.
Passlack’s greatest strength is arguably his passing ability, and that would surely see him settle in brilliantly if Pochettino was able to bring him to Tottenham.
Therefore, while Toljan may be the player that Tottenham actually want right now, they should not be too disheartened if he moves to Dortmund as it may perhaps present a different opportunity.
