Andros Townsend has told Premier League Productions that he doesn’t think Patrick Bamford would want to leave Leeds United.

The Crystal Palace winger feels Bamford has ‘done the rounds’ and ‘it’s not worked’ out in some situations, but he has now finally found a home in Leeds.

From Chelsea’s academy to struggling to make a name for himself at Derby, years after trying, it was Leeds that ended being the right fit for the Englishman.

And given that Bamford is up there with some of the best names in the goalscoring charts this season, Townsend still cannot see him leaving any time soon.

“I don’t think he will want to go anywhere,” said Townsend. “He’s been. He’s done the rounds. He has been everywhere. It’s not worked out on occasions.

“He has finally settled down. He has got a manager who appreciates his game and he is getting the best out of him.

“So, even if clubs come calling then I don’t think he will be fazed one bit.”

It has been one rollercoaster of a ride for Bamford since his £10 million (BBC Sport) switch to Elland Road nearly three years ago.

In the Championship, he was a marmite-like figure for the number of big chances he used to miss on a regular basis, but that’s not been the case in England’s top-flight.

It’s a shame for Bamford that Gareth Southgate didn’t come knocking on Thursday ahead of England’s international fixtures, but you can sense that he’s not too far away.
