The Chelsea striker could go down a storm at West Ham United and the Hammers are said to be keen to finally bring him in.
According to a report from the Mirror, West Ham United will have to sign Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi in a permanent deal this summer, rather than taking him on loan, and the Hammers should jump at the chance to bring the exciting young Belgian to the London Stadium.
Batshuayi may have struggled for game time at Chelsea this season but that does not reflect his ability in front of goal, and if the Blues are foolish enough to cast him aside after a single season, West Ham are the perfect club for him to rediscover his confidence.
The 23-year-old arrived at Stamford Bridge with a big reputation after scoring regularly for Marseille and Standard Liege, but Diego Costa’s presence at the club meant Batshuayi was only ever going to be a back-up option.
So it proved, with the forward featuring predominantly as a substitute but when he starts, he almost invariably scores, with two goals and two assists in four FA Cup matches and two goals in three EFL Cup outings.
Chelsea would be smart to send Batshuayi out on loan to see what he can do when played in England week in, week out, but if they really are foolish enough to cash in on him so soon, West Ham must do everything in their power to get a deal over the line.
He could quickly become a fan favourite at the Hammers, and if he is theirs permanently then all the better.
