The Aston Villa boss will meet with the Manchester United manager to discuss the goalkeeper.

As reported by the cub’s official Twitter account, Aston Villa manager Steve Bruce has confirmed he has already spoken with Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho about on-loan stopper Sam Johnstone, with a face-to-face meeting scheduled for later this month.
“We hope there is good news there,” Bruce said, but let’s face it, Mourinho is unlikely to have agreed to a sit-down unless he was willing to do business regarding the young stopper.
Saying no is best done over the phone, but ironing out the details of a move – either permanent or again on loan – is far easier to do in person.
Johnstone has won over the doubters at Villa to become one of the club’s best players, and while there was a dip in performances and subsequently results with the season drawing to a close, the 24-year-old can hold his head high after a job well done.

Johnstone featured 22 times for Villa this season, keeping eight clean sheets, including seven in eight matches between 25 February and 4 April.
There is still work to be done, as shaky performances against Reading and Fulham proved, but if Bruce is sitting down with Mourinho, expect a positive announcement out of Villa Park in due course.
