Arsenal and Liverpool both want Hoffenheim’s Kerem Demirbay but if the Reds lose out could they then sign Jack Wilshere?

Liverpool are also interested in Demirbay, who was instrumental in a deeplying playmaker role last season when his side finished fourth in the Bundesliga.

The Gunners’ head of recruitment, Sven Mislintat, knows the Germany international well having previously worked for Borussia Dortmund and views the 24-year-old as a good replacement for Jack Wilshere or Aaron Ramsey – who are both linked with exits from the Emirates Stadium.
Wilshere Anfield bound?
When it comes to Wilshere, if the Reds do lose out on Demirbay to their Premier League rivals could they then immediately follow up with a move for the England international?

The 26-year-old, who is out of contract at the end of this term, was linked with a switch to Merseyside by the Mirror earlier this month.
Wilshere has been offered a new deal at the Emirates Stadium, but it will see his wages cut from £110,000-a-week to £90,000-a-week and as a result he is reluctant to sign it – meaning a summer exit is looking increasingly likely.
