Speaking on The Done Deal Show, Ben Jacobs has been discussing Youri Tielemans’ situation in the transfer window.
Tielemans has been linked with a move away from Leicester for at least six months at this point. In fact, it was way back in February when Fabrizio Romano claimed that the midfielder would definitely be leaving Leicester this summer.
According to Jacobs, a late move for Tielemans is possible from Manchester United, but the journalist have the caveat that the Red Devils’ interest in the Belgian could be complicated if Arsenal enter the race for the midfielder.
What’s been said?
Jacobs shared what he knows about Tielemans, Manchester United and Arsenal.
“The other name to consider when talking about Manchester United is Youri Tielemans. He’s low-hanging fruit, he’s right there. If Arsenal enter the race it becomes complicated, but at the moment they haven’t and Tielemans still wants to leave Leicester and Manchester United need to strengthen. It wouldn’t surprise me if concurrently with Casemiro, don’t be surprised if they don’t make progress Tielemans comes into the equation as well,” Jacobs said.
Got to make a move
Arsenal need to make a move for Tielemans before the window closes.
The Gunners could really do with some added depth in their midfield, and Tielemans is reportedly at the top of their transfer wish list.
With just one year left on his contract, he should be available for a bargain fee, and there’s seemingly no reason why Arsenal wouldn’t move for the player.
Manchester United are also keen, and perhaps if they accelerate their interest in the 25-year-old that will force Arsenal into action.
In our view, this is a no-brainer for the Gunners.
