It’s a little early, but despite Leeds United’s injury problems, Gabby Agbonlahor has backed the club to beat Arsenal next week, as he told talkSPORT.
Before Leeds and Arsenal locks horns in the Premier League in nine days time, they have two more games to play before their own showdown at Elland Road.
Marcelo Bielsa’s side were hoping to jump straight into this festive period with a bit of a boost, after picking up four points last week, including scoring two stoppage-time goals.
But the luck just isn’t with the Whites because Patrick Bamford, Kalvin Phillips, Rodrigo and Liam Cooper are all out with injuries, as the Leeds boss confirmed.
It has left the Yorkshire side in a bit of a mess as they are now in the middle of one of the most important periods of the season.
Despite that, Leeds fans will love how Agbonlahor thinks they can do a job against Arsenal next week.
“Arsenal at home, you fancy them,” said Agbonlahor. “If Arsenal can’t match their intensity, then you fancy them to win.
“I don’t mind Leeds. It has taken them that long to get back to the Premier League. Do they really want to be flirting with relegation?
“Their owners need to find the money from somewhere to help the players.”

Even though it’s not Christmas yet, Arsenal have already been in the festive spirit.
During their past two matches, Mikel Arteta’s side have taken the lead against a Manchester United team that sacked their manager.
And an Everton side that went into Monday night’s game on an eight-game winless run and having just been smashed by their Merseyside rivals.
Yet, despite all of that, it was Arsenal who were leaving empty-handed and providing both teams with early Christmas presents.
