Aaron Ramsdale has praised Arsenal’s summer signings following the arrivals of Gabriel Jesus and Fabio Vieira, with Oleksandr Zinchenko set to join from Manchester City this week.
Speaking to Sky Sports News ahead of Arsenal’s pre-season friendly against Orlando City SC, Ramsdale lauded the club’s two latest recruits, with the goalkeeper praising Mikel Arteta and Edu Gaspar’s transfer policy, which mirrors what Arsenal did last summer with new signings.
The 24-year-old keeper was one of six new signings last year as Arsenal spent the most out of any club in Europe to refresh the squad, with Ramsdale a controversial £30m signing from then-relegated Sheffield United, with the shot-stopper going on to establish himself as the club’s no. 1 over Bernd Leno.
Arsenal fans who once questioned last summer’s moves have now had a change of mind with the club coming close to a top-four finish, and the signing of Ramsdale, in particular, was arguably one of the turning points for the Gunners as the England youngster flourished in north London.
Indeed, Arsenal have made similar moves this summer in Jesus and Vieira, and according to Ramsdale, he is happy that Arteta and Edu are signing players who are in the same age group as himself and who could go on to develop into top-class superstars in the coming years.
Ramsdale said: “Bringing in players who are hungry and young like we did in the previous year, we’re also bringing in winners as well who have done it at this level, so everyone who is in training is raising the level a bit more, and if anyone can come in and raise that again, it’s only going to benefit us.”
Arsenal’s summer signings have so far been perfect

Arteta is embarking on his third summer transfer window as manager of Arsenal, and after some mistakes in his earlier years, the Basque manager seems to have the formula down to a science, with every new north London recruit so far being an incredible addition to the squad.
Jesus has been a star in pre-season whilst the likes of Emile Smith Rowe have been amazed with what they’ve seen from Vieira in training, and with the business far from over, Arsenal could head into the new season with a squad that could challenge for a top-four spot in emphatic fashion.
