Speaking to Sky Sports, Jurgen Klinsmann has claimed that he’s open to becoming the next Tottenham manager.
The German of course spent time with Spurs during his playing days, and he still has strong links to the north London club.
Klinsmann says that he has a good relationship with Daniel Levy and if a call came from the Spurs chairman about the manager’s job he’d consider it.
“If a call comes from Spurs and if any call came because I have a good relationship with Daniel Levy over the years, I’m there, he has my number, he can call me anytime,” Klinsmann said.
“Always being in touch and doing stuff with Spurs for me is something special, I had the best time of my life there during my two spells. The second spell was a bit more difficult because we fought relegation, so the first spell was a bit easier, but definitely, Spurs is always something you’d consider.”
The German then went on to speak about how quickly things can change in football, before concluding:
“You never know what happens overnight. I never thought I’d coach Germany or the United States or Bayern Munich, so you’ve got to have an open mind and think about new challenges and newer things, so why not Spurs?”
Micky Hazard has previously suggested Klinsmann as a potential option, and it seems as though the German is keen on the idea.
To be honest, Spurs could do a lot worse than hiring a man who has managed the German national team and Bayern Munich.
Of course, whether or not a move for the 56-year-old comes to fruition remains to be seen, but perhaps Levy would like to have a little chat with Klinsmann in the coming days to see what his ideas are.
