Newcastle United are reportedly planning a £3million move to sign Jesse Lingard from Manchester United – but if £3million is enough, Tottenham have got to pounce. West Ham are also interested in the England ace.
Lingard, 29, is out of contract at the end of the season. The England star has started just two of his 14 appearances for Manchester United during 21-22. It comes after he chose to return to Old Trafford, after a West Ham loan.
Indeed, Lingard scored nine goals and laid on five assists in 16 games for West Ham during the second half of 20-21. But he chose to return to Old Trafford, a move which has not paid off for the ex-Hammers ace.
The Star report that West Ham and Newcastle both want Lingard – though Newcastle are planning a move to get him this month, bidding £3million. The Mail claim Tottenham want Lingard, but only on a free transfer.

It remains to be seen if Manchester United are willing to do business, and cash in on Lingard for the nominal fee. But he is not getting a chance under Ralf Rangnick, and a move would at least see United get something.
Tottenham, meanwhile, need a bit of inspiration from somewhere. They need to bring in a player that can play on the right, complementing Harry Kane and Son Heung-min. Lucas Moura is good, but can be improved.
For just £3million, Lingard is perfect. Premier League proven, but also able to drop back and play in more of a midfield role. If Kane is unavailable, he can also play up top as a false nice. Spurs have got to pounce.
